Simone Marachi
December 13, 1917 – June 12, 2011
Simone Marachi, age 93, the beloved wife of the late Dr. Chams Marachi, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 12, 2011. Born in Paris, she came to the United States in 1954 with her husband and three children and was a resident of New York City for twenty-five years before relocating with her husband to South Florida where she spent over thirty years. She was trained as a nurse but devoted most of her time as a homemaker.
Mrs. Marachi is survived by her two devoted children, Dr. Jean Paul Marachi and his wife, Carmela of Fairfield and Brigitte Sullivan and her husband, Martin of Titusville, FL; her two sisters, Jacqueline Buhler and Genevieve Deperson, both of France; her loving grandchildren, John Sullivan and his wife, Lisa of Glastonbury, Cathy Sullivan of Phoenix, AZ; Jason, Christine, and Michelle Marachi, and Diane Kennedy, all of San Francisco, CA; Paul Marachi of Bridgeport and Danielle Walker of Hamden; and eight great-grandchildren, Randy, Scott, Ryan, Teresa, Angelo, Jackson, Declan and Nicholas. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son, Denis.
Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Pius X Church followed by a reception. Interment will be private. Donations may be made in her memory to Food for the Poor at www.foodforthepoor.org/milestones.
