Raymond W. Trinkley
October 6, 1924 - October 28, 2011
Raymond W. Trinkley, age 87, of Fairfield, the beloved husband for over 60 years of Terri Trinkley, died peacefully at his home on Friday, October 28, 2011. Born in Bridgeport to the late William Cavanaugh and Stella Jullick Trinkley, Mr. Trinkley was a veteran of World War II where he proudly served in the Army Air Corp as a control tower operator in Burma. He was a graduate of the University of Bridgeport and Columbia University. Prior to his retirement, he was the Chief Economist at United Technologies, Sikorsky Aircraft where he used his gift in mathematics to help pioneer Sikorsky Aircraft’s first computerized strategic planning models. Mr. Trinkley was an Adjunct Professor of Economics at the University of Bridgeport and Sacred Heart University and also was a Dean of Administration at Bridgeport Engineering Institute. He was an award winning artist and lecturer on Impressionism. He was also a member of the Fairfield County Art Association. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two sons, William of Stowe, VT and Mark and his wife, Maria of Fairfield; his beloved grandson, David Trinkley; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Michael Nastu and his wife, Mary of Fairfield, Sophie Pittu of Fairfield, Nell O’Neill and husband, Gene of Bridgeport and Barbara Felner of Fairfield; and, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, James, William and Robert; brother-in-law, Robert Felner, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gus and Thoma Nastu; a niece, Dolores Chemero; and his nephews, Jeffrey Pittu and Eugene O’Neill, Jr.. Friends are invited to greet the family on Sunday, October 30, 2011 from 2-4 p.m. at the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Road in Fairfield Center. All other funeral services are private. Donations may be made in his memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, CT Chapter, 2075 Silas Deane Hwy., Suite 100, Rocky Hill, CT 06067. The family would like to thank Vitas Hospice Care and Amarilis Molina, Vincent Pryce, Troy Wint & Pam Waugh for the loving care and kindness given to Raymond during his illness.
