Lillian Dubiel

June 29, 1920 – July 12, 2011

Lillian Lorraine Dubiel age 91, formerly of Fairfield and currently of Las Vegas, the beloved wife of the late Anthony Dubiel, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2011. Born in Van Buren, ME to the late Abel and Mattie Langlais, she was a longtime Fairfield resident, prior to moving to Las Vegas in 2010 to be near her daughter.

Mrs. Dubiel was very active in her community and church. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua church and active in St. Anthony’s Seniors and the Ladies Guild. She was also a member of the VFW Alfred Smith Post #74 Ladies Auxiliary and the Elks Lodge #2220.

She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Rita Johnson of Las Vegas; granddaughter, Kristen McHale of Homestead, FL; and sisters, Florence Joyner of Belcamp, MD and Thelma Beaulieu of St. Augustine, FL. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Martin.

Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at 10 a.m. directly at St. Anthony of Padua Church for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Friends may greet the family on Monday, July 18, 2011 from 4-7 p.m. at the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Rd. in Fairfield Center. Donations may be made in Lillian’s memory to St. Anthony of Padua Church, 149 South Pine Creek Rd., Fairfield, CT 06824.

    I am sorry to hear of your loss. I spoke to Aunty Lill when Henry passed away, but had not seen her for many years. As a young boy I remember her welcoming us into her house and preparing the most wonderful fish chowder. Gave me something to look forward to during the 4 hour car ride from NH to CT.
