Kathleen A. DeLapp
January 10, 1958 – November 22, 2011
Kathleen (Sheehy) DeLapp, age 53 of Fairfield, beloved mother, daughter, sister and friend, passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 with her family and friends by her side, following a brief illness. Born in Norwalk, she attended St. Mary’s School and Wilton High School. She also attended the University of Arizona and subsequently undertook a career in sales and marketing for several Norwalk and Manhattan firms. Kathleen enjoyed photography, the arts, socializing with friends and most of all, spending time with her family.
She is survived by her devoted children, Danielle DeLapp of Bridgeport and Eliot DeLapp of Stratford. She will also be missed by her loving fiancé, Vin Bissoondial of Stratford; her mother, Catherine (Doherty) Sheehy of Wilton; brother, Michael K. Sheehy and his wife, MaryGaye Grizwin of Hollis, NH; sister, Joan Sheehy of Westport; her future son-in-law, John Wagner; and many extended relatives and close friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Michael A. Sheehy; brother, Daniel Sheehy; and her former husband, Paul DeLapp.
Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Monday, November 28, 2011 at 10 a.m. directly at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Fairfield for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private. Friends may greet the family on Sunday, November 27, 2011 from 1-4 p.m. at the funeral home.
Danielle, Elliot and Vinny, I am so very sorry for this tragic loss. Your mom was a beautiful person inside and out, and loved you so dearly. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Please let me know if I can do anything at all to help you through this difficult time.

Dear Danielle and Elliott your mom was a sweet lady who loved you both and was proud of you and I know her passing leaves a big hole in your hearts. And to Vin, I know the awfulness of the loss of your other half and best friend, the absolute certainty that you will never be able to smile or be happy again, and the oppressive presence of her absence. Danielle and Elliot it is with the deepest of sorrows that we bid adieu to a beautiful and vibrant Irish lass. Your mom was a very special person to us all whether it be as a Mom, daughter, sister, friend or cousin and she will surely be missed by all. Be strong in this most difficult time.
I am so shocked and saddened by Kathy passing. My heart goes out to you. Kathy was such a special and lovely person. Seeing her wedding picture brought back so many special memories at your house surrounded by love and laughter. Aunt Kit I am so very sorry.

4 cousins…Paul, Patricia, Dennis and Kathy…all born the same year…and now I am filled with sadness that another one of us has been taken far too early and with so much left to see, love, and do on earth. To my Aunt Kit and to Danielle and Elliot who I met so many years ago…and to Mickey and Mary and Joan…and to all of those left to wonder why…I pray that you find the strength to get through the next few days and know that Uncle Mike is holding Kathy in his arms and welcoming her to a place that the rest of us can only imagine! I am also sure that my Mom and Dad (Betty and Dan Sheehy) are alongside to give her a big hug as well!
