Emil J. Judge

Emil J. Judge, of Southport, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Sunday, July 24, 2011. Born in Detroit, MI to the late Emil and Elizabeth Judge, Emil was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

Along with his wife Maxine, they formed The Judge Tool Sales Co., which continues today. They worked together until her untimely death in 1967.

An avid golfer, he belonged to the Patterson Club and the Pasadena Country Club in Florida. Emil was a lifetime member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and a member of the Fairfield Sportsman Club where he enjoyed the yearly trips to Rangeley, ME and Lakeville, CT.

He is survived by his two daughters Gwen Palmer and her husband, Joseph of Fairfield and Barbara MacWilliams and her husband, William of Macon, Georgia; his two stepchildren, Hank Hoffman and his wife, Jane of Wallingford and Jeff Hoffman and his wife, Leila of Durham; seven grandchildren, Bill, David, Todd and John MacWilliams and Chris, Steven and Joe Palmer; five stepgrandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren.

In addition to his first wife, Maxine, he was predeceased by his second wife, Wilma; his sister, Margaret Beaudette and his stepson, Peter.

The family is grateful for the tender care given by his caregiver, Mohira Downing. All funeral services were private.
